I have been using Zyrtec now for over 6 years. I have tried various allergy medications, and have never received the relief that I receive from Zyrtec. Other allergy medications caused me rashes, little or short term relief, drowsiness, or sleeplessness. The first time I tried Zyrtec, I was surprised at how quickly I experienced relief. I even waited for problems like sleeplessness or drowsiness to occur. It seems that as I get older, I have developed more allergies. I used to take Zyrtec only in the spring of the year. Now I take Zyrtec every day and all year long. I have not experienced any affects from taking Zyrtec every day, three-hundred and sixty five days a year. I would recommend everyone who has any allergies to start taking Zyrtec. You will not experience the side effects that you get from the other allergy medications on the market today. I was glad when the FDA made Zyrtec an over-the-counter medication. This made Zyrtec available to many more people. If you are thinking about switching or beginning to start an allergy medication, begin with Zyrtec. If you begin with Zyrtec, you will not need to try all the other allergy medications that are on the Pharmacy shelves. You can save yourself time and trouble if you try Zyrtec first. The only negative that I have about Zyrtec is the price. When Zyrtec was still a prescription drug, my health insurance paid almost the total cost of Zyrtec. I paid Five dollar co-pay. Now I am paying as much as $35.00 per bottle of Zyrtec. I do not understand how the medical companies can charge such a high price for such a necessary and important medication. But, I am lucky, in that I CAN afford to purchase Zyrtec. However, I will retire this year and will be on a fixed income with Medicare as my health provider. I hope that I will still be able to continue to afford to purchase Zyrtec.
