WREATH
BACK OF WREATH AND SUPPLIES
Greenery from your yard. Clip pine or the flexible branches from any tree to 15 inches long. Use these as the wreath or garland base.
Take a walk and collect pine combs, holly berries, and leaves. If you have allergies, make sure you’ve identified with your doctor what not to use.
Embellish your trimming wreath with finds from your own kitchen: stud lemons and oranges with cloves for a beautiful and fragrant entrance.
Since your finds were originally destined for the compost bin, put them there after the holidays, where your decoration won’t collect allergy-inducing dust.
Bend and secure branches with crafting wire (try the green wire used by floral arrangers), or use a wreath pattern or form from a craft store or garden outlet.
Once you’ve arranged the base of longer branches, connect more pieces with pipe cleaners, or even recycle the plastic bag twist-ties you’ve been collecting.
Use a glue gun to secure smaller details like dried fruits and flowers, pine combs or colorful leaves.
Tool box: Glue gun, wreath form (optional), crafting wire, pliers, pipe cleaners or twist-ties.
